Visiting Veterans
While in Branson, you’re going to notice a lot of red, white, and blue. Folks, the American Veteran rocks in Branson, Missouri! And rightfully so! Patriotism is in the fibers and foundation of our local value system. We are incredibly grateful to every man and woman who has served our country! The brotherhood and sisterhood runs deep amongst these heroes and they frequently visit the Branson area for reunions and ceremonies. Here’s some great resources that military veterans should be aware of!
Established in 2008, this beautiful clinic is located centrally in Branson and is easily accessible. Branson Veteran’s Affairs Community Based Outpatient Center sees thousands of veterans every year from outside of the area. Services include primary care, mental health, pharmacy, radiology, dietician, audiology, and optometry. This is a small clinic with a great reputation in the community. You can receive care at this clinic if you qualify. To see if you do, stop by the clinic at the front desk with a copy of your DD-214 and a VA employee will get you on the right path.
The Disabled American Veterans – Chapter 68 is located below the Branson VA Clinic, on the backside of the building. The DAV is an advocacy group that helps transport veterans to health care appointments free of charge. There also have advocates available that help with coordinating care and drivers for driving veterans. The Branson DAV isn’t open everyday, but call ahead (417-243-2326) to check with them before stopping by. The Branson DAV is a powerful voice for our veterans and are present for community outreaches and programs.
Branson Veterans Task Force is a non-profit organization that propels and encourages patriotism year round in the Branson area. BVTF spearheads the Veteran’s Week that takes place in November of every year. They set up Veteran’s Village where people come from all over the country to connect with resources, rub elbows with comrades, and great music and food! Branson Veterans Task Force is incredible in their drive to celebrate our nation’s veterans!
In the Branson area, you’ll find some active veteran groups that enjoy coming together and supporting one another. These groups are active in various ways, such as coming home ceremonies, veteran burial commemorations, and with community events. These veteran groups thrive and participate in Veteran City, USA! Each of these groups are full of some great people, who love to uplift our community, and continue their service outside of the military.
