The first six miles of Taneycomo Lake are teeming with fish and considered the premier spot in the area. Depending on water flow from Taneycomo Lake, current water levels, and rain levels, you can see anglers in waders fishing for trout. Remember: this water is cold and is not somewhere you want to wade in without preparation. There are multiple water accesses along the Shepherd of the Hills Hatchery`s property with areas that could be fished from the bank. Follow BELLADONNA TRAIL for parking.
Hulland Park is quietly situated along Taneycomo Lake`s tributary, Turkey Creek in Hollister, Missouri. Fish love to make their way into the still waters of Turkey Creek! There`s two great places to fish along Turkey Creek that are closely situated together. When you take Hulland Park Road, there is a water access or there`s an old rock house at the mouth of Turkey Creek at Taneycomo Lake. There`s plenty of space to stretch out and catch dinner!
Old 86 is located on Table Rock Lake and has tons of shoreline! You`ll see people along the banks and in the warm water (during the summer) fishing for supper. The lake is edged with oak, hickory, sycamore, and other native trees. Be on the lookout for a downed tree, where fish love to hide out!
Table Rock State Park is one of the most popular water accesses on Table Rock Lake due to its locality to Branson and attractions. However, don’t let that deter you from setting up a chair with your fishing gear. The walking trails (Lakeshore Trail) located at the state park will allow you to wander away from the boat access, where the water can be very busy. Follow Lakeshore Trail (a mostly flat trail) to find a spot along Table Rock Lake to cast a line!
Bring your fishing gear into town with you! Dewey Short has tons of space to set up your chair and spend the day tossing your line into Table Rock Lake! You`ll be situated close to Table Rock Lake and there are lots of trees for shade. You can also walk down Lakeshore Trail (that connects to Table Rock State Park) and find other quiet places to fish. The views of Table Rock Lake are big and be on the lookout for the Showboat Branson Belle! The water quickly drops off from the shore and the water can be rough if there`s lots of boats out. However, the fishing is excellent, especially in the early morning and at dusk!
